The Supernatural: Gifts Of Healing / Working of Miracles
This sermon focuses on God’s healing power and our role in receiving and sharing it with others. In it, guest speaker Dan Lawrence emphasizes faith, obedience, and the importance of expecting God to move in our lives. A key theme is understanding that gifts of healing can be physical, emotional, or spiritual, and that God’s supernatural presence is still active today. Through personal stories and scripture, Dan encourages listeners to seek God's glory, forgive others, and go higher in their relationship with Him.

Sermon Highlights
Understanding the Glory of God and the Supernatural
Dan begins by defining the glory of God as the visible manifestation of God’s nature — His love, wisdom, creativity, power, and grace — made real in our lives. The supernatural, he explains, includes any act of God beyond human understanding. "The glory of God is all the things that make Him wonderful, made manifest for us to see and respond to."
Healing as Part of God’s Present-Day Ministry
Drawing from decades of healing ministry, Dan emphasizes that Jesus still heals today. Healing, he says, is not just physical but also emotional, mental, spiritual, and financial. "Healing is just not physical... God wants to provide whatever kind of healing you need."
He references Exodus 15:26: “I am the Lord who heals you.” This, he says, is not a conditional statement, but a declaration of God’s nature.
Faith and Expectation Are Essential
A recurring message in the sermon is that God gives gifts, especially healing, to those who expect and believe. As Lawrence puts it, "He gives. He has gifts for us. He wants to give us these things."
Lawrence cites Romans 10:17: “[F]aith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” He warns against bitterness or disappointment when healing doesn’t come as expected, reminding listeners that: "If you don’t [trust God], you’ll end up on a dead-end road of anger, bitterness, confusion, and resentment."
Healing Testimonies and Modern Miracles
Sometimes healing comes in the form of God working miracles in our lives. Dan shares multiple personal and ministry stories of miraculous healing, including:
A man whose cataracts fell off into his hand after prayer.
A woman’s eyesight healed overnight while she slept.
A couple at a Dunkin’ Donuts who were told they couldn’t have children but conceived after prayer.
A church in Kansas that grew from 60 to 500 after healing and unity transformed the congregation.
"God knows what’s wrong with them — I don’t. So whatever is wrong, please heal them in the name of Jesus."
Forgiveness and Emotional Healing
Dan teaches that unforgiveness often blocks healing. Emotional and relational wounds can manifest in physical illness, but forgiving others opens the door to health. “You have to forgive everybody,” he says. “And it’s hard — I’m the first one to admit that.”
Real-World Application and Obedience
He emphasizes the importance of obedience and following God’s voice in everyday life. Sometimes God directs people in unexpected ways — like to a gas station or donut shop — for divine encounters. "There are only two reasons these things happen to me: I’m obedient to God, and I yield to Him."
Call to Go Higher with God
Dan concludes with an analogy comparing Christians to eagles and the devil to a crow:
"When the crow jumps on the eagle’s back, the eagle doesn’t fight — it flies higher. Eventually the crow falls off from lack of oxygen. That’s what we must do — go higher with God."
